Pearl Valley (Muthyala Maduvu)

Muthyala Maduvu popularly known as the Pearl Valley is a beautiful picnic spot that lies in the outskirts of Bangalore. This tourist spot is located at a distance of 5 kms from Anekal and 40 kms from Bangalore.

This quiet and peaceful place surrounded by nature is a perfect getaway from the loud and noisy Bangalore. Pearl Valley as the name suggests is situated within a valley nestled between beautiful hills. The place has a rich concentration of birds owing to the presence of the waterfall. The mountain ranges are also visited by trekking enthusiasts. Another tourist attraction, Thattekere lake, is nearby. Surrounded by a beautiful mountain range, the main attraction of Pearl Valley or Muthyala Maduvu is the mesmerizing waterfalls.

I traveled to this place with my 3 other roommates. We rented bikes through the ONN bikes App. It was our first short road trip in Bangalore as we were all new to this place. It was fun with early morning ride, cold wind and the pollution free environment.

MAIN ATTRACTIONS

Waterfall:-  The peaceful ambiance, the beautiful cascading falls and the greenery that surrounds this valley attracts tourists to Pearl Valley. There is a  small and narrow way to reach the down of the valley. There are about 280 steps which can be done by walking also. One can find many people there who has come with their families for picnic or sight seeing. The Pearl Valley has a wide variety of birds owing to the presence of the waterfall. There is also a wide range of flowers and lush green plants and trees that make this place extremely beautiful. No wonder this place is a favorite among bird-watchers, nature lovers and ornithologists.

Lake– It’s a beautiful man made lake where you can sit and dip your legs in that cold water and also listen to birds chirping.  This is not the same lake present below the waterfall.

Thattekere Lake– It’s also a beautiful lake just 22 kms from Pearl valley

Trekking–  There are beautiful mountains which are some ideal spots for trekkers. We took our bikes till the top but one has to be careful so that they don’t skid with the bikes.

One should be careful of their belonging as there are many thieves and a lot of pick pocketing is also very frequent at this place. Even we kind off had a bad experience.

Cost:- 1000-1500/- as it was just a few hours trip and the money we paid was just for the entry fee, food and fuel for the bike.
